Aquacel® Ag+ Extra™
Aquacel® Ag+ dressings are antimicrobial primary dressings for use in wounds that are infected or at risk of infection. They are designed to manage the 3 key local barriers to healing - exudate, infection and biofilm.
RCT evidence shows Aquacel® Ag+ Extra™ heals more wounds, heals wounds faster and with >3x fewer adverse events versus non-silver dressings.¹⁻² NICE reviewed cost-modelling shows Aquacel® Ag+ saves >£500 per patient to treat an infected leg ulcer.³

AQUACEL® Ag+ dressings were specifically designed to combat the challenge of biofilm with its MORE THAN SILVER™ Technology, combined with Hydrofiber® Technology.
MORE THAN SILVER™ technology
- Disrupts and breaks down biofilm slime to expose bacteria3-5
- Kills a broad spectrum of bacteria, including antibiotic resistant superbugs, with its reservoir of silver *4,5,6
- prevents biofilm formation*4,5
Hydrofiber® Technology
Helps create an ideal environment for healing – and for the MORE THAN SILVER™ Technology to work.
- Locks in excess exudate, bacteria and biofilm to help minimise cross infection and prevent maceration*7-12
- Micro contours to the wound bed, maintaining optimal moisture balance and eliminating dead spaces where bacteria and biofilm can grow*13-15
- responds to wound conditions by forming a cohesive gel, while helping to minimise pain associated with dressing changes*16-18
*As demonstrated in vitro
